ŞIRNEX - Naif İşçi, an ill prisoner whose release was postponed 5 times by the Administration and Observation Board, releases in prison.

Naif İşçi, who was arrested after being detained in September 2010 in Cizîr (Cizre) district of Şirnex (Şırnak) province, was released from Diyarbakır T-Type Closed Prison. İşçi had been sentenced to 24 years in prison on charges of "committing crimes on behalf of terrorist organisation without being a member of the organisation", "terror propaganda", "violating the Law on Meetings, Demonstrations and Marches". The Court of Cassation reduced the sentence to 16 years, taking into account İşçi's age.

İşçi was due to be released on 27 August 2023. However, İşçi's release was postponed 5 times on the grounds of "going on hunger strike" and refusing to "remorse".
