Peoples of Rojava stand up for their status and rights

NEWS CENTER – Thousands of people marched in Amûdê, Amûdê, Dirbêsiyê, Derik and Girkê Legê, calling for the defence of Rojava and for the rights of the Kurdish people to be guaranteed in the Syrian Constitution. 

Mass marches were held in the cities of Amûdê, Dirbêsiyê, Derik and Girkê Legê, which are part of Rojava's Cizîre Canton (Jazire Region), as part of the "1 February World Rojava Solidarity Day".
 
In Amûde, thousands of people marched from Jina Azad Square to Martyr Cihad Square carrying photos of those who lost their lives in the Rojava resistance and Kurdistan flags. During the march, slogans such as “Berxwedan jiyan e (Resistance is life)”, “Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)” and “Gelê Kurd yek e (The Kurdish people are one)” were frequently chanted. The march turned into a rally when it reached the square. The programme ended with slogans.
 
A mass march attended by thousands of people was also held in the city of Dirbêsiyê. The people marched towards Gardînya Junction chanting the slogan "Bijî berxwedana Rojava". The programme ended with slogans saluting the Rojava resistance and the unity of the Kurdish people.
 
Residents of Girkê Legê, Rimêlan and the surrounding villages organised a mass march. The march began at Şehit Xebat Square, with participants carrying Kurdistan flags and YPJ, YPG and QSD flags. The march ended with slogans.
 
In the city of Dêrik, the march began at Azadî Square. Carrying Kurdish flags and banners reading "Bijî berxwedana Rojava" and "Bijî yekitiya gele Kurd," the march turned into a rally in front of the Şehit Bawer Youth Centre, where a moment of silence was observed.
