Kurdish and Arab fighters are defending their land together in the city of Hesekê. One of the Arab fighters in the Women’s Defence Unit (YPJ) ranks reacted to the perception that some want to create between the components. 

 

The Arab fighter said: "We, the Kurdish and Arab peoples, have lived together throughout history. As an Arab woman, I march in the ranks of the YPJ with the idea of Democratic Nation Leadership and I believe in this idea.”

 

The fighter said she wants the Arab people to embrace the idea of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. "Because the liberation of the peoples lies in this idea. The liberation of the peoples lies in the project of Kurdish, Arab, Syriac and Circassian brotherhood, and this project will definitely succeed," she said.
