World Mother Language Day actions in Rojava 2026-02-21 20:04:57 NEWS CENTER - Marches were held in Rojava cities to mark World Mother Language Day. The marches emphasised that Kurdish must be recognised as an official language in the new constitution. Actions were held in cities across North and East Syria to mark World Mother Language Day. The demand for Kurdish to be made an official language was at the forefront of the protests.   Large numbers of people took part in protests held in the cities of Qamishlo, Hasakah, Tirbespi, Dirbesi, Til Tamir, Amude and Girke Lege.
