Call for 'We march to freedom with hope': Let's raise our voices for freedom

	AMED - Democratic Institutions Platform called for participation in the march from Amed (Diyarbakır) to Ankara on 1 October with the slogan "We march to freedom with hope". 

	 

	A statement was made at the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Amed Provincial Organisation regarding the march from Amed to Ankara on 1 October with the slogan "We march to freedom with hope" led by the Democratic Institutions Platform and the Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA).

	 

	Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Provincial Co-Chair Ahmet Doğan said that 250 women will march on 1 October for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Doğan said that they will continue their protests until Abdullah Öcalan is free and added: "The freedom of the Kurdish People's Leader will bring the freedom of women and other peoples. For this reason, we are waiting for all our friends to Çeşme Durağı behind Ceylan Karavil Shopping Mall on 1 October." 

	 

	DBP Provincial Co-Chair Ruçem Vefa Elyakut stated that this march for the quest for freedom and for a democratic society to be realised under the leadership of women is for the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. 

	 

	Ruçem Vefa Elyakut concluded: "In the march, 5 demands will be realised in 7 points and 7 titles. We plan to start our march in Amed and end it in Ankara with the Group Meeting.  It will be completed in Riha, Dîlok, Adana, Mersin and Ankara. Our call to all women and all peoples will be as follows; Every woman is a step, every step is a resistance and every resistance is a hope. Let us take our place in this march of hope. Let's march together and raise our voices for the freedom of Kurdish Rights Leader Mr. Ocalan and the freedom of all the peoples of the world."
