Commission to hear from bereaved today 2025-08-19 11:27:19 ANKARA - The National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission, which was established in Parliament as part of the Peace and Democratic Society Process, will hold its first meeting this week today at 14.00. The commission will listen to the relatives of those who lost their lives during the conflict processes.    In the first session of the meeting, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş will make a presentation. Afterwards, the commission will listen to the representatives of the Turkish War Disabled Veterans Association, Martyrs' Widows and Orphans Association, Turkish Veterans and Martyrs' Families Foundation, Turkish Martyrs' Relatives and Veterans Solidarity Foundation, and the Law Enforcement Organisation Duty Disabled and Martyrs' Families Foundation.    In the second session, the Commission will listen to the people who were brought to the Amed Provincial Organisation of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and made to sit-in in front of the Amed (Diyarbakır) Provincial Organisation with the direction of the police during the term of former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.    In the first session of the second meeting of the commission tomorrow, the commission will listen to the Saturday Mothers and Peace Mothers, and in the second session it will listen to the representatives of Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), Human Rights Association (IHD), Association for Solidarity for Human Rights and Oppressed People (MAZLUM-DER) and Tahir Elçi Human Rights Foundation.    The meetings will be chaired by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş.
